History
During the 1960s, FC Internazionale was known as Grande Inter. In 1960, head coach Helenio Herrera arrived from FC Barcelona and transformed the club into one of the most dominant teams in European football. Inter won the European Cup for the first time in 1964 and successfully defended the title in 1965. During this decade, the club also claimed multiple Italian league titles. The legendary Grande Inter team featured iconic players such as Tarcisio Burgnich, Giacinto Facchetti, Mario Corso and Sandro Mazzola.
